MRCS Highlights from the 2023 USVI Digital Health Summit



The USVI Digital Health Summit 2023, organized by the Governor's Office of Health Information Technology, provided a platform for local leaders to navigate the ever-changing digital health landscape. With a focus on the unique challenges faced by the small Territory, including hurricane zones and frequent power outages, the summit aimed to equip providers with the necessary support, expertise, and knowledge.


Under the theme "Riding the Wave of Transformation," the summit brought together physicians, nurses, administrators, IT providers, and various other stakeholders from the healthcare industry. Attendees had the opportunity to network, forge meaningful connections, and engage in discussions that fostered innovative thinking, partnerships, and problem-solving.


The conference offered a conducive environment for meaningful interactions, with ample opportunities for attendees to connect and collaborate. Against the backdrop of warm weather, blue ocean, and blue skies, this small yet impactful event facilitated insightful conversations and initiatives that aimed to push the boundaries of digital health in the US Virgin Islands.


The estimated attendance of 160-210 individuals, including staff and attendees, showcased the strong interest and commitment of professionals from diverse backgrounds. With a focus on sharing best practices, updated federal guidelines, and policies, the summit empowered participants to effectively manage patients across multiple points of care.


The USVI Digital Health Summit 2023 underscored the importance of embracing innovation and overcoming challenges to drive positive change in the healthcare landscape. By bringing together a range of stakeholders, the summit fostered collaboration and provided a platform for the exchange of ideas, ultimately working towards advancing digital health in the US Virgin Islands.
