[BOWIE, Maryland - February 2, 2025] Medical Revenue Cycle Specialists (MRCS) is excited to announce its second collaboration with Howard University and the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) to offer a free Revenue Cycle Management 101 course. This initiative, funded by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), is part of the PHIT4DC Workforce Development Program, aiming to strengthen healthcare education and workforce readiness in the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia region.
Building on the success of the Fall 2024 course, this new 16-week program expands on the fundamentals of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), equipping students with the essential knowledge needed to navigate the financial aspects of healthcare operations effectively.

Time: 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM EST (Recurring Weekly Every Tuesday)

Course Overview
This 15-week virtual course provides a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM). Students will gain a clear understanding of how the revenue cycle operates within clinical practice, covering key stages from patient registration to final payment. The course will explore best practices for:
Ensuring timely reimbursement
Maintaining the financial health of healthcare organizations
Adhering to regulatory requirements and compliance standards
Understanding reimbursement methodologies across different healthcare settings
By the end of the course, students will be equipped with practical knowledge and skills to support the financial integrity and compliance of healthcare organizations. This program is ideal for individuals looking to start or advance careers in healthcare administration, billing, and finance.
